The Grmec Mountain is located in the northwestern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, between the Una and Sana Rivers. It is an extraordinary plateau and a large pasture surrounded by forests and beautiful nature.
The hillsides of Grmec are rich in deciduous and coniferous trees, intersected by meadows and fields. River springs, lakes, cliffs and caves complete diversity and composition of the landscape. Many caves provide habitat for the alpine newt (Proteas anguinur). Water flows of the powerful rivers Una, Sana, Vrbas, Ukrina, Drina and Tara, the clearest rivers in the whole Balkans, are rich in many species of fish.
