Blidinje Park was named after the Blidinje Lake nested at the base of the Long Plain (Dugo polje) at 1,184 meters above the sea level. The lake spans 6 square kilometers. Majority of the water flowing into the lake comes from snowmelt that drains from the mountains Vrana and Cvrsnica.

Una National Park is defined by the unspoiled river that runs through it.
