Tourists who intend to spend a few days in Sarajevo, accommodation in a number of hostels will pay 15 - 60 KM. However, the tourism board say that, according to their data, their work reported only four hostels.
Every year more and more tourists are visiting BiH mountains. Tourists are attracted by excellent skiing facilities, stunning nature and reliable amount of snow.
And it is well known that going on the ski trip is often regarded as a therapy for the body and soul. Mountains like Bjelašnica, Jahorina and Vlašić are the available for skiers who like a real challenge. The skiing season in BiH normally starts in December and it reaches to the March and the snow is practically guaranteed. However, the latter in the season you ski, the better chances for the longer days with sunshine. In general BiH ski destinations are well equipped and the slopes are well maintained.
There are lower technical demands for the skiers expect for the mountain of Bjelašnica with its steep slopes. That was the reason why Bjelašnica hosted the downhill race during the Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo 1984. The Igman Mountain is located several minutes away from the Bjelasnica Mountain. The mountain is prized with beautiful hiking trails and exceptionally cleans air. During the Winter Olympic Games, the Igman Mountain hosted Nordic events and ski jumping competitions. The Bjelasnica and Igman Mountains are among the leading tourist attractions of Sarajevo.
Another pearl in the collection is mountain of Jahorina which is regarded as one of the most beautiful mountains in Europe. A popular ski resort with favorable climate, beautiful ski trails and mild slopes. Visitors can enjoy skiing, night skiing or learn to ski in one of the ski schools available in the valley. In spring and summer the BiH mountains are a paradise for all nature lovers, hikers, fishers and sports people. There are organized tours during the summer season for most of BiH mountains which makes this spectacular landscape accessible for the tourists with no prior experience. Mountain lakes and untamed rives offers a fantastic rafting and fishing experience.
BiH landscape is covered with mountains, valleys and forest which make it an ideal site for hunting. Wild game such as bear, wolf, roebuck, fox, and wild boar are some species living in this country.
